El excelente trabajo que realizó Leonie, preparando la llegada de nuestra hija Sara Ronia y recibiéndola luego en su casa, fue también un sorprendente descubrimiento para mi.
El conocimiento que la mujeres han desarrollado y creado a lo largo de los siglos relacionado con la fabulosa tarea de criar la vida en sus vientres, está vivo en la labor de Leonie: en los consejos, las recetas, la dieta, la maravillosa experiencia del parto natural sin reflectores, ni químicos, ni maltratos.
El enorme esfuerzo realizado por Leonie para cuidar y compartir ese conocimiento termina siendo para las familias que crecemos acompañados por ella un regalo de transformación, una promesa, una esperanza si se quiere, de vivir más sano, mejor.

Leonie is excellent at what she does! I have seen her a few times for different health problems. Unlike most Western doctors, you don’t sit for a long time in a waiting room, then get ushered in and out as quickly as possibly. My first meeting with her lasted over two hours! We spent a long time talking, and she looked at me after- stomach, joints etc- even though I had gone to her about skin problems. She recommended various natural remedies and diets to me- and they really helped me. Her remedies really treat the source of the problem, instead of just covering up the symptoms.

I met Leonie through my cousin, Weston. After speaking through email and once on the phone, she graciously agreed to let me stay with her family at Las Chullpas for nearly three months to focus on my health.
I was 18, and had been diagnosed with asthma 14 years before at the age of four. For the entire span of my concrete memory, my life had been organized around a rhythm of inhalers. Over the course of adolescence the list of medications lengthened with pills to deal with heartburn caused by the inhalers, pills to manage allergies and constantly stuffed sinuses; not to mention a digestive tract that had never fully recovered from a South African virus that tore my appendix three years before. I was a real fixer-upper.
Leonie gave me the tools and the power to heal myself. She prescribed teas, diets, and meticulous instructions for the timing and application of each remedy. Most importantly she asked me to acknowledge the self-isolating walls of guilt and anger that I had built around myself growing up.
I went off, and stayed off all of my medications following my time with Leonie. And I’ve felt alive ever since: for instance I cry now (I never used to be able to do this before when I was upset). Leonie showed me how strong and malleable my body is; she proved to me that I can always change it, and that I can always have power over my own health.
It’s a great comfort knowing Leo is in the world, performing her work with such signature, and certainly irreplaceable, passion.

I met Leonie by chance when i had come to Peru to work with another medicine women for health reasons.
The group i stayed with had booked Las Chullpas and it was there that i had the incredible fortune to meet Leonie.
The minute one comes in contact with her, i believe her incredible power and energy as a human being is obvious.
I asked to book a session with her to see if there was a second opinion she could offer me for a Rheumatoid arthritis condition i was diagnosed with. Leonie informed me that she believed my previous diagnosis was incorrect and told me that my high pain levels were due to my blood which was extremely dirty and poisoning me. She asked me if i was willing to do everything in my power to change my life and i was.
For the next two hours Leonie gave me a complete run down of herbs i would have to find in the States to make an every other day tea and a new diet that i was to follow strictly for the following year.
I believed her (i am very cautious with doctors/healers normally as i had tried many looking for solutions) and immediately created my life around her dietary and lifestyle insights.
For someone that has lived in pain, you will understand when i say i went from an 8-9 pain level, never with continuous sleep at night to living at a 1-2 pain level day and night in the first year. It really was the beginning of a huge path to changing my life.
Let me caution the excited reader that Leonie is not a magician. She gave me the tools to do the work i needed if i wanted to live healthier and pain free. It took tremendous discipline to change what was effecting me but living a life in pain is no life so for me there was no other option.
I have never met someone that was able to diagnosis me so quickly and help me to have such a profound affect in my life.
I consider Leonie to have be a true teacher and mentor for me. I feel blessed to know that she is out there in the world.
